Target Run and Done: Hot Wheels 2021 K case

Social Media was buzzing on Friday June 4, when people began seeing 2021 K case showing up at their Target stores. A local Collector Buddy confirmed this, as he got three cases in his store that day. I decided to set out and see what I could do.

After getting some sleep from working the night before, I received a Brickseek email that all of the stores around had gone up in inventory. Sometimes this means yesterday and sometimes it is day of, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Determined, I headed to the store closest to me, and found some K case scraps on the pegs. I decided to ask for help and the clerk was nice enough to grab a fresh case from the back for me. I pulled out many cars, but there was no super in this case. Still, I picked up plenty of the 2021 K case releases.

I had more time left in the day, so I headed to a second store, only to find that it had already put out their cases. I was able to pick up 6 of the 8 Flying Customs releases so it wasn’t a total loss.

Headed to the third store, I was hopeful to have some good luck. When I arrived the pegs were blown out, as they had not put out any cases. I asked the clerk and he helpfully brought me two cases! I rapidly went through and picked out a few pieces, and boom. Super Treasure Hunt! This made the run a complete success.

As of this writing, I have the Super Treasure Hunts from A, B, F, G, and now K case. The hunt continues…

My personal favorite in this wave. The IROC-Z is iconic, and it’s great to see it in the mainline.
The Miata is the regular treasure hunt for 2021 K case. Note the flame logo on the rear fender.
