WWE Retro Figures Wave 2 Review

The shipping box. It has arrived!

The Box the figures came in. I’m keeping this one for display purposes.

Bret “The Hitman” Hart, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, Jimmy Hart…and Nikolai Volkoff.

Bret Hart loose
Jim Neidhart Loose
Jimmy Hart loose. The Megaphone is removable.
Nikolai Volkoff

My thoughts:

– I don’t mind the painted singlets on Bret and Jim, but Mattel should look into creating a new mold for that for future retros.

– Nikolai should have been The Honky Tonk Man. HTM was managed by Jimmy and the Harts were involved in the feud between Honky Tonk and Macho Man Randy Savage in 1987. Frankly, due to the limited nature of spots in this line, Volkoff isn’t as worthy of a spot as Honky Tonk Man.

– The ordering process on these was very easy, and I received mine in one week. Some people received in three days. Very effective job by Mattel.

– The retro line is only going to get better from here. The next two waves on deck are the “lost” set with Tugboat, Lex Luger, Doink, and Greg Valentine and then the nWo set with Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and Syxx. It’s a good time to be a retro collector, as Mattel is starting to improve the choices of characters to really fit the line.

– There should have been tag team title belts here.

As always, happy hunting
