Coca-Cola Christmas Series Checklist: Check out These Collectible Cars

The Story of Coca Cola Christmas, from M2:

As I documented in 2020, the Coca Cola Christmas Cars from M2 are a tradition at this point. A tradition of competition, motivation, urgency, frustration, glory (for some), and a lot of time spent hunting and waiting. Everything you love about Christmas in a nutshell. These cars are only issued once, and once they are gone, they’re gone until the next year. They also come in special displays, which only come out when the store feels like it, more or less, as I have learned. Whoever gets to them first, usually will take most of the cars, and the display itself. A new wrinkle was added in 2021, as two sets were offered, a couple of weeks apart. I will break down each year with the teaser provided from M2, as well as a checklist and pictures of each release from 2019-2023.

Wait, what is a Coca Cola Christmas Car?

M2 has a long line of cars decorated in Coca Cola themed designs and packaging. Starting in 2019, they launched the Christmas versions, exclusive to Walmart. These come with holiday designs and carding, From 2019-2022, the cars came with either a Coke bottle, or a snow-covered tree on the car. The chase cars feature red chrome trim, and the super chases (raw) are silver bare metal clear coated.

2019:

Are you starting to get that holiday season itch? M2 Machines is, and we are stoked to announce our 2019 Holiday Collection which is in partnership between Coca-Cola, Walmart and us.

Beginning to arrive in Walmart stores now is a special Holiday Season side kick loaded with 2 new M2 Machines collections of diecast models. The sidekick which will be in USA stores only will be filled with 24 pieces of both Coke releases 52500-PB01 and 52500-SC02 each of these sets include 4 standard releases 2 chases and 1 super chase making each set a seven-piece collection and a total fourteen-pieces to hunt down. There is no guarantee that a complete sidekick will have all 14 pieces, so you best get your sled ready for some real hunting.

2020:

Heading to select Walmart locations in the USA and Canada is M2 Machines Christmas Collections Releases PB02 (52500-PB02) and SC03 (52500-SC03)
Series SC03 (52500-SC03) is the second collection you will find in the Side-Kicks and includes 6 castings; a 1960 Volkswagen Delivery Van, 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet C60 Truck, 1976 GMC Truck, 1985 Chevrolet Camaro and a 1956 Ford F-100. There are also two chases in this release to keep an eye out for; the 1960 VW Delivery Van accented with Red Chrome Bumpers Trim and Wheels and the even more scarce 1985 Chevy Camaro with a Raw body with Red rims and interior. Each piece in the set also comes with a scaled down Christmas Tree. The release is packaged in blisters and features past Christmas art from the Coca-Cola archives.

2021:

Though the snowflakes are not falling just yet, M2 Machines is starting to get into Holiday mode with a new Walmart USA and Canada exclusive sidekick that will begin to arrive in locations across both countries in October. Celebrating 90 years of Coca-Cola Santa the collection takes 8 of our most popular castings and wraps them in various holiday colors and graphics. Each piece is delivered in a clamshell package and features individualized art which further enhances each replica. Alongside the 8 standard releases you will find a Red Chrome trimmed chase variation of the 1972 Square Body and a partially raw Red Chrome trimmed Volkswagen Custom Delivery Van. Please keep in mind this 10 piece full variation set will be available in Walmart stores in the USA and Canada and will be found in a custom holiday theme sidekick.

2022:

The collection takes 6 of our most popular castings including our 1941 Willy’s Coupe, 1956 Ford COE Truck, 1960 Volkswagen Custom Single Cab Truck, 1970 Ford Mustang 1974 Chevy K5 Blazer and 1990 Chevy C1500 Silverado and wraps them in various colors and graphics. Each piece is delivered in a clamshell package and features individualized art which further enhances each model. Alongside the 6 standard releases you will find a Red Chrome trimmed chase variation of the 1970 Ford Mustang and a raw Red Chrome trimmed Volkswagen custom Single Cab Truck. Please keep in mind this 8-piece full variation set will only be available in Walmart stores in the USA and will be found in a custom holiday theme sidekick.

Along with the set chase fans should be on the lookout for a Red Chrome trimmed 1973 GMC Jimmy Sierra chase variant and 1965 raw body Red Chrome trimmed 1960 Volkswagen Custom 4X4 Delivery Van Super Chase. 2023:

Do you feel a little winter like chill in the air, neither do we – not yet at least. Maybe we can send a little shiver down your spine, with the insight that Walmart has picked up its first Coke-a-Cola Holiday Season collection just days ago. That’s right, heading to Walmart’s warehouses now is our first exclusive Holiday collection of 2023. Shipping inside a colorful sidekick is 6 castings – a 1932 Ford 3-window Coupe, 1960 Volkswagen Custom Truck, 1969 Ford Mustang Funny Car, 1971 Dodge Challenger Funny Car, 1973 Chevy Blazer, 1974 Dodge Truck, 1976 GMC Truck and a 1989 GMC Sierra 1500. Along with the set chase fans should be on the lookout for a Red Chrome trimmed ’89 Sierra chase variant and an extremely limited Raw ’71 Challenger Funny Car making the full variation release a 10-piece set. In Conclusion

As you can see, there are some repeat cars, as M2 knows which of their models will move. A lot of collectors are wearing thin on the Coke Theming, but these special cars are always nice to see. The card art is usually fantastic, and the chase can be fun for these.
