An annual tradition, it’s time to rank the 2026 Super Treasure Hunts from Hot Wheels. This ranking is purely my opinion, and has some criteria:
- Casting choice
- Color
- Wheels
- Intangibles like repeated castings or anything else I choose
Here are my 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021 and 2020 rankings.
There are fifteen castings that became Super Treasure Hunts for 2026, and this is my ranking, starting with 15-11:
2026 Super Treasure Hunts, 15-11:
Drift Ender
Case: A
Rank: 15
Starting from the bottom is this piece of garbage. Automatically deducting points for being a fantasy casting, This one was deeply unpopular and shows which cars should be supers and which should not.
Nissan Maxima Drift Car
Case: L
Rank: 14
This one strikes out in three ways: mediocre casting, racing livery better suited for Car Culture, and black super.
’94 Toyota Supra
Case: K
Rank: 13
Everything I said about the Maxima applies here, but also a Tooned version, which is not Super Worthy.
Subaru Impreza
Case: J
Rank: 12
There is a pattern emerging here. The saving grace on this one is that the blue color real pops, or it would be lower.
Honda Civic Custom
Case: F
Rank: 11
Here we go again. The green here looks fantastic. The rest is a cluttered mess.
2026 Super Treasure Hunts 10-6:
Lotus Sport Elise
Case: H

Breaking the trend is this mediocre casting, which at least has a unique color scheme and a clean look. Better than what’s behind it on the list.
Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7

Rank: 9
This one is a fine addition, I would like it with better wheels, so it loses some points.
Custom Otto

Speaking of wheels, this one is a great addition but loses many points for not having real rider wheels. I understand it was to be true to the 1968 version, but don’t make it a Super without all of the details.
’23 Ram 1500

I had to deduct points here for a messy design, although the purple and the rest of the look works great.
Ferrari F40 Competizione

This year’s “Money Car”, really does look great. Mattel capitalized on their Ferrari license and got this one out right away, and the fans went cray for it. It’s still a $200 car almost a year after it first emerged.

’70 Plymouth AAR Cuda

I really like this one, but I would have loved to see it in a Mopar color, maybe green or orange.
’87 Ford Sierra Cosworth
Case: E
Rank: 4
Everything about this one says mid 10-range, but one saving grace with me: that hot pink is magnificent on this car. This one is literally a highlight(er) of the run this year.
’64 Impala
Case: D
Rank: 3
This beautiful impala makes the top 3 and it is well earned. The stripes are a bit busy but this one shines like a diamond. Also, this one was the win from the infamous hula hoop top shelf retrieval.
Ford Mustang GTD
Case: B
Rank: 2
The annual mustang did not disappoint. The blue pops, the gold rims are a nice touch, and just an all around great car. This one I found by sheer luck of catching a restock at just the right moment.
’67 Pontiac Firebird 400

Rank: 1
After seeing the carded picture, I knew this was my #1 for this year. This Firebird is just beautiful in all ways. It would get a perfect score on the Keck Super Ranking Scale.
