Wrestling Regrets

Occasionally there have been times while collecting the Mattel Legends/Flashback lines that I have skipped over a figure for one reason or another. It could have been a financial choice, or just not wanting a duplicate, or not jumping at the right time. These are the missing pieces of my collection. With the prices on the secondary market through the roof, it might be difficult to pin these down, but time will tell.

“These are the missing pieces of my collection”

Elite 16 Kevin Nash. One of the only figures I was never able to find at retail.
Ringside Collectibles Bret Hart. I should have jumped on this one and let it pass.
Wrestlemania 30 series Shawn Michaels: I chose the Bret Hart from this series, and let Shawn slip away.
King Kong Bundy was a Mattel shop exclusive, that I didn’t bother to order, I have two of those releases though.

The Macho Man Section

Ultimate Maniacs Macho Man: I saw this figure in store and online several times and never picked it up, now it’s a missing piece next to Warrior.
Then, Now, Forever Macho Man: I saw this figure a handful of times and was just being too picky.
Ringside Collectibles nWo Macho Man: Same as Bret, I overlooked this one most likely because of cost and missed out.
See nWo Macho Man for this one, but this one disappeared faster.
Elite 12 Kane: I never saw this figure in a store.
Walmart Flashback Series Yokozuna: at the time, I felt I didn’t need a third Yoko in the collection.
Ringside Collectibles nWo Kevin Nash: Another one I let slip due to price at the time.
Virgil was a Toys R Us exclusive, and I ignored him until it was too late.
Walmart Flashback Doink the Clown: I was being too picky here, as every one that I found had smeared paint on the chest.
Walmart Flashback Ultimate Warrior: I saw this figure once, passed, and didn’t get a second chance.
Walmart Flashback nWo Syxx: I saw this one at the same time as Warrior and Yokozuna, and passed. They were soon gone.

The infamous Flashback Series 3

These figures all have the same story: I found them all at once, one time in Walmart, and never again. They are probably the rarest main release figures Mattel has done.

Walmart Flashback Jake The Snake Roberts
Walmart Flashback Ricky Steamboat
Walmart Flashback King Harley Race. This one is twice as valuable because it is his first release and was extremely hard to come by. Before COVID spiked prices across the board, this one was getting $300-$400.

I hope to obtain these figures at some point, hopefully prices will settle down. You might say this is a shopping/wish list…
