The problem is, they also pack those same guys into the other series. It’s not difficult to walk into a Target and see two or three different AJ Styles figures on the shelf at one time, just with different accessories or attire. That’s great if you love AJ, but what if you already have him? What if you already have all of them? Mattel needs to do a better job of getting product to the shelves, because clearly people will buy them up as soon as they hit. Message boards and Social media blow up when new series hit, and people are on the hunt to get the latest and greatest characters to add to their collection.
At Christmas time, the stores should be loaded up with WWE Figures and not just AJ and Seth. This would help with exposure to the line, and help bring in new customers by having their collections grow via Santa, the way we older guys did with Hasbros and Jakks.
Fortunately, the internet is always available. Ringside Collectibles is a great option for buying figures, but not everyone wants to shop online. Christmas money goes quick in a lot of families, and if the figures aren’t on the pegs, they’re not getting bought.
Happy Hunting.
