As a companion to my favorite Hasbro WWF figures list, these are my least favorite Hasbros. As usual, these are in no particular order.
Series 3 Macho Man Randy Savage.
I’m a big fan of the series 2 Macho King figure, it was a great version of Savage. But this was a cheap cop out to reflect the change from Macho King to Macho Man when Savage changed in 1991. My beef with this figure is they could have repainted the figure in some other scheme, instead of doing a retread of Macho King with Macho Man written on it.
Series 2 Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase
At least this figure was a different outfit. The problem is it was more outdated than the series 1 Ted in the black suit. My issue here is the figure has the “stomp” action, one of the worst for playability. This spot would have been better to debut a Ted in ring gear that ended up coming in series 9.
Bushwhacker Butch, tag teams series 1
A mediocre figure for a mediocre team, Again with the stomping action, this figure didn’t have much to offer. The curled arms didn’t help the cause. Every fig fed needs jobbers right?
Series 3 Ultimate Warrior
This figure has a lot of notoriety because other than Green cards, it’s one of the highest valued and hardest to come by MOC figures in the line. When Warrior left WWF in 1991, it caused the figure to be pulled, making it more scarce. But the figure itself, is not good. It uses the raising arms and stomping action, which caused the figure to be very thick and not much like how Warrior looked in real life. Series 2 Warrior was a way better representation.
Series 1 Ultimate Warrior
Speaking of Warrior, he’s lucky enough to have two garbage figures in the line. As one of the most popular stars, this figure was everywhere. To be fair, it is very colorful and a good likeness of Warrior. But the oddly placed weight belt (rumored to have originally been an Intercontinental title) and the horrible “jumper” action make this figure one of the worst to me.
Series 4 Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat
Speaking of jumpers, this is another one that was disappointing to me. This is definitely a colorful figure, and a good likeness to The Dragon and his entrance gear. That gear is what caused the problem with the figure. The headpiece was in the way, and the chest piece was bulky in a way. It was a good attempt but a swing and a miss.
Series 2 “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka
Another jumper which is a strike, and to me Snuka was always a bum. The attire is accurate for the time, but it’s just a bland and uninteresting figure to me.
Series 6 Ric Flair
To me, this figure is the worst. The body was terrible for Rick Rude, but at least it suited Rude. Flair was never this ripped, or skinny. The trunks are painted over the tights mold, and the knee pads are basically missing. This likeness was never “Fair to Flair”.
