Store Exclusives

One of the the biggest segments of my Hot Wheels Collection are the Store Exclusives. These are cars that are only available at a particular retailer. Here is the breakdown of where to find store exclusive Hot Wheels:

Walmart Store Exclusives:

Current Store exclusives:

• Zamac Editions: Examples. These are variations of main releases, minus paint. They have clear coat paint over bare metal along with some designs. Zamacs are released in groups of three, six times a year. With the rest of 2020, there are 91 Zamac Editions to collect. I currently have 79, just waiting on the rest to release.

• The “$2.14” cars: These are Store Exclusives sets that come out a few times a year, and follow a theme. There are “Stars and Stripes”, “Detroit Muscle”, “American Steel”, “American Pickup”, “Backroad Rally”, “Camoflague”, “Off Road Trucks”, and so on. These usually have 10 cars per set. The $2.14 cars are not re-released.
• Superhero theme cars: These are sets of 6/8 cars at the $.94 price, that come with a superhero theme. Most commonly there have been Batman sets, but there have also been Avengers, Spider Man, Marvel, Captain America, and more recently Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
• The Fast and the Furious: a popular Store Exclusive for Walmart is the Fast and Furious line. There have been several sets of these, with some repeats and some new releases from the various F&F movies.

Previous Exclusives

Past exclusives include Red Line Wheels, Windshield Banners, and Tire companies like BF Goodrich written on the wheels. There have also been simple recolors available only at Walmart as well.

This is an example of the Store Exclusive redline variation. The van on the left was only available at Walmart, the one on the right was everywhere else.
