Store Exclusives

GameStop:

Gamestop had their first Hot Wheels event in November, 2019. It was a replacement for Kmart day, with the decline of that chain. They offered special 36 count cases which also contained the exclusive recolors. See the gallery above for those cars. So far, that is the only event they have run.

Dollar General:

Dollar General has joined with a mail in promotion and four exclusives of their own. These were in 36 count trays, at all DG stores. See the picture above for the cars released.

How to identify Store Exclusives:

• Red Edition or Zamac logo
• Online research
• An unusual amount of certain cars in a store
• Promotional material on the bin/tray/in store

When are Store Exclusives Released?

• Walmart
  • Zamacs are 6 times a year, in alternating cases starting with E.
  • $2.14/FF/Superheroes etc are spread through the year.
• Target
  • Red Editions are 4 times a year, in alternating cases starting at D.
  • Flying Customs/Throwbacks/Retros are 2-3 times a year.
• Kroger
  • In June/July along with J case.
  • The mail-in promo was in October with P/Q case.*
• Dollar General
  • The Mail-in promo was in April 2020, with G case.*
• Gamestop
  • The Mail-in promo was in November 2019, with B case.*

*It is unknown if these promos will be run a second time.
