These are common terms and phrases I often use related to collecting WWF and WWE action figures:
Hasbro: The first WWF wrestling line I personally collected. Hasbros ran from 1990-1995 and had a total of ten series.
Jakks/Jakks Pacific: The Successor to the Hasbro line, ran from 1996-2009 and had several versions of figures, most notably:
- Bone Crunching Action (BCA): These figures launched the Jakks WWF line and ran until 1999. BCAs phased out in the early 2000s as the next line took over.
- Titan Tron Live (TTL): The follow up to BCA, the TTL line started in 1999 and phased out in the early 2000s, although TTL style figures were made all the way until 1999.
- Ruthless Aggression (RA): This line began in 2003 and took over for the TTL line. Lasting until 2009, there are more RA figures than other Jakks figures, as well as the biggest roster of names.
- Classic Superstars: This was a dedicated RA line of Classic names of the history of wrestling. This line lasted 28 series and has a massive roster of names.
Mattel WWE: Mattel took over the toy license from Jakks at the beginning of 2010, and is running at present. These are considered by most as the best figures, as they have the most attention to scale, as well as a large roster and dedication to accuracy as best as possible. There are two main Mattel lines, Basic and Elite. Flashbacks are Mattel’s version of Classic superstars, and they pop up frequently in the Basic and Elite lines.
Accessories: The items packed in with the figure. It might be a title belt, a weapon, or an item related to the person.
One per case/One per every other case: Limited release figures
Repaint: The same figure repainted in a new color scheme.
Re-Release: The same figure, released again with no changes.
