Best of the Best: the Target Legend Series

First of all, let’s pick one from each wave, starting at 7. These are strictly my opinion and there isn’t a true criteria other than eye test. Here we go:

  • Legends 7: Greg The Hammer Valentine
  • Legends 8: Eddie Guerrero
  • Legends 9: Tatanka
  • Legends 10: DDP, I guess
  • Legends 11: Macho Man Randy Savage
  • Legends 12: Kevin Nash
  • Legends 13: Jake The Snake Roberts
  • Legends 14: Edge
  • Legends 15: Kane
  • Legends 16: Faarooq, I guess
  • Legends 17: Shawn Michaels
  • Legends 18: Paul E. Dangerously
  • Legends 19: D’Lo Brown
  • Legends 20: Mr. Perfect
  • Legends 21: Jimmy Hart
  • Legends 22: Sultan
  • Legends 23: Hulk Hogan
  • Legends Greatest Hits 1: Honky Tonk Man

The Top Ten:

Out of these 17, here are my top 10, not necessarily in order:

Paul E. hasn’t had too many Elites, and his WCW era is often overlooked due to his ECW legacy and WWE run. But 1992 Paul is an excellent, and somewhat hard to come by Legends figure. The breakable phone is a nice touch.

A very deep cut, the Sultan gets new parts and is an excellent representation of a often forgotten character. A worthy addition to the line.

Mr. Perfect comes with the polarizing rubber singlet top, but it looks great here (as long as the Intercontinental belt is on), and from top to bottom this figure is well, Perfect.

1992 Shawn Michaels was looked down on by some because it’s very close to a Ringside Exclusive, but this figure is great all around and represents newly minted heel Shawn from 1992.

Jimmy Hart has some of the most detailed deco of any Legends series, so much that the rest of his wave was reduced to boring, simple attires.

There was a long anticipation of an nWo Kevin Nash, as he had only had one (VHTF) Elite and a Ringside Collectibles exclusive, so this one was very needed. It’s a great figure as well.

The Cream of the Crop, this Macho Man is spot on in his 1987 era. Both this and the chase version are both flawless.

1991 Jake Roberts was a great addition to the line, and is a nice compliment to the original Series 2 Jake. The blue flame attire was one of his best, and looks great here.

The relaunch of the Legends series got us a debuting Greg The Hammer Valentine, and it’s a strong effort that is spot on all around. It also had a chase variant.

Kane is one of the most highly detailed Elites of all. The rare Raw tag team title is a bonus as well.

I hope the Legends series keeps rolling. There are many great figures and these are just a handful. I’m looking forward to the future lineups.

Happy Hunting
