WWE Elite Flashback Series
Walmart had it’s turn as well with the Elite Flashback series. This series ran for three waves, and was infamous for the impossibility of finding series 3 in most stores around the country. The debuting King Harley Race now goes for hundreds of dollars on card. I regrettably passed on Series 1 and series 3 the one time I saw them, assuming they’d be around. Huge mistake. There was also a series of Basic Flashbacks, which I’m overlooking for now.
- Series 1: (Build a Summerslam interview Set)
- Syxx
- Yokozuna
- Mean Gene Okerlund
- Ultimate Warrior (Royal Rumble 91)
- Series 2: (Build a “Heartbreak Hotel” set)
- Alundra Blayze
- Doink The Clown
- Shawn Michaels (Wrestlemania X)
- Razor Ramon
- Series 3: (Build a Commissioner Michaels)
- Jake The Snake Roberts
- King Harley Race
- Stone Cold Steve Austin
- Ricky The Dragon Steamboat
WWE Then, Now, Forever Series:
Walmart had another exclusive line, with the Then Now and Forever Series. This line featured Classic and modern talent. Two three packs were released, one with The Shield, and the other with Randy Savage, Lex Luger, and Sting. There was again a basic line alongside the Elites in this line. These are the Legends who were released in this line:
- Bam Bam Bigelow
- Macho Man Randy Savage (1999 Version)
- Miss Elizabeth
- Earthquake
- Typhoon
Bam Bam Bigelow is one of my favorites here, and Earthquake and Typhoon are both impressive as well.
WWE RetroFest Series:
The Retrofest series was originally exclusive to Gamestop, but Target.com picked up the last two releases as well. These had the unique packaging resembling an arcade cabinet. A small group, but some nice figures here:
- Mr. Perfect*
- Ric Flair
- Macho Man Randy Savage
- The Iron Sheik*
- The Honky Tonk Man
- Hacksaw Jim Duggan
- Shawn Michaels (Rockers version)
*Released through Target.com
